KALAMAZOO, MI – Michigan's high school baseball state tournament is right around the corner, and the heat is on for a final push toward peaking season.

That means a little more bite to an 0-2 slider for Kalamazoo-area pitchers, and a few more ounces of power behind a swing at a 3-1 fastball for hitters, too. The area's best teams are making their cases for postseason success, and we’ll take a look at who made the cut in this week's list of surging teams from around the area.
